RTA Special Users Travel Cards

The township office is an official registration center for RTA Users Travel Cards, which allow persons, at least 65 years old or disabled to use RTA-funded transportation at reduced rates. Those who qualify and wish to apply for the card should bring a small passport-type photo and a form of identification which includes a photo; and date of birth (i.e. Driver's License, state ID card or passport) to the township office. For your convenience, the township can photograph you for a small fee. Your card will be mailed to your home within a few business weeks.

RTA Senior Discount Cards

Beginning March 17, Seniors can ride for free. If you already have a Reduced Fare Card, you are already enrolled in this program. If not, please stop by the Township office during our office hours. We will complete the enrollment form with you, and if you do not have a passport-size photo to submit with it, we will take your photo for just $8.

Deerfield Library Offers Free Delivery of Books

The Deerfield library has a new program for the mobility impaired. The library will deliver books to people who can't get out of their homes without charge.

Hospital Taxi Service

To assist our seniors, who go to Highland Park Hospital, the township provides taxi coupons with a value of $4.25 for each one-way trip. When used with a Village of Deerfield coupon, a one-way trip costs just $1.00. Stop by the township to pick up your coupons.

Senior Call

Each business day, the township calls any senior who wants someone to "check" on them. These friendly calls are usually scheduled for a time convenient for the senior. Older residents who live alone and/or have health problems enjoy the daily contact that provides this security for them. Call our office for more information.
